  I am a veteran referred to this Dr. by VA . From the beginning of the appointment I thought something was wrong, when they refused to let my wife of 32 years go in with me to see the Dr. I was here for a shoulder replacement consultation. There was nothing I had to hide from my wife! When in the exam room right away the Dr.started talking condescending to me. I have Acromegaly (giantism) he kept referring to the steroids (cortisone) I was taking as the fault of my shoulder problems, when as I tried to explain I had the issues prior to taking the Cortisone.I confirmed that he knew I had Acromegaly. Acromegaly causes the long bones to grow up into the sockets and wear them out prematurely(I have already had both hips replaced). I then asked him if knew what Acromegaly was....This was bad!! While taking several steps forward, getting in my face, He Yelled at me, "I'm a board certified orthopedic surgeon! of course I know what Acromeglia is" (note the mispronunciation) at that point that exam , which had barely started was over because he left the room!! What an ass!! You would think someone with his credentials and years of expierence would be able to carry on a conversation with someone without being explosive. I now have to wait to find another surgeon to handle my replacements.
